Putting his foot down: O’Gorman demands asylum seekers be housed in Coolock and Dundrum despite protests

Asylum seekers will be kept in the Coolock neighbourhood of Dublin and Dundrum, County Tipperary, as scheduled, despite objections, reports Breaking News.

This follows weeks of violent incidents at the former Crown Paints location, including arson attacks that left many gardaí wounded.

Residents of Dundrum, County Tipperary, were denied an injunction to prevent asylum seekers from being housed locally in the Dundrum House Hotel on Wednesday night in the High Court, reports Breaking News.

According to the Minister for Integration, discussions about community issues will still be held.

However, Roderic O’Gorman asserted that the state must grant requests for international protection.

“We will respond to the issues that protestors are raising. I’m clear we need to provide this accommodation, so families aren’t left homeless,” he told Newstalk on Thursday morning, reports Breaking News.
