Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest next to her husband after a day Britain and the world said goodbye to Britain’s longest-serving monarch.
Huge crowds filled the streets of London and Windsor Castle to witness the grand processions and moving ceremonies.
“Few leaders receive the outpouring of love that we have seen,” Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, told the congregation at the state funeral in the majestic Westminster Abbey, where monarchs have been married and buried and indeed crowned over the last 1,000 years.
Among the 2,000 worshipers were around 500 presidents, prime ministers, foreign royalty and dignitaries, including Biden.
Michael D. Higgins and Micheál Martin were among those present.
