Rafa Nadal will not play the French Open for the first time in 14 years as retirement questions linger

It’s looking increasingly likely that one of the best tennis players in history Rafa Nadal is going to retire in the not too distant future.

The former world number one will hold a press conference today confirming that he will not be participating in this year’s French Open – the first time in some 14 years.

He has a hip injury that won’t subside since January. Add to that a bad foot and he has been forced to not play the French this year.

Many, many people now query whether he will ever play it or any major tournament again and whether he’ll soon follow Roger Federer into retirement.
