A bank in India is out 1.3 million rupees after a rat manged to eat its way through the notes in a ATM machine.
In the bizarre incident which happened in the town of Tinsukia, banking officials were left mystified after they uncovered the notes which is equivalent to almost €12,600 were found in tatters.
However following an inspection officials discovered that a dead rat amongst the pile of unusable money.
It is believed the rat made its way into the ATM via a small hole that is meant for electronic cables.
Meanwhile the State Bank of India say an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
