There have been calls for a hotline to be setup so that people can ring and inform on venues, cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs who aren’t checking their covid cert upon entry.
Anyone who’s been out and about over the past couple of months will no doubt have seen people getting their covid certs checked while entering a premises, but it would seem that the government want to go one step further and enforce threats of fines if the hospitality sector is caught not checking certs.
The Social Democrats Catherine Murphy mentioned a special phone line in the Dail where people could ring and say that they weren’t checked and the venue wasn’t compliant.
Many on social media have been calling such lines “a rat line” on those working hard to make a living.
