We have all known for quite awhile that Conor McGregor will take on Floyd Mayweather in an epic crossover fight on August 26th, but what we didn’t know was what TV station the multi-million dollar fight will be broadcast on here and in the UK.

Well now it seems we have our answer as satellite provider Sky have confirmed today that they have obtained the rights to air the fight to both viewers in the UK and Ireland.

After agreeing a deal with Showtime in the US and holding off competition from both BT and ITV the bradcaster confirmed that they will be showing the right live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Although the fight which is dubbed the richest fight in history will be shown on the popular platform UK and Irish fight fans will have to fork out £19.95 or €24.95 to see the Notorious and Money to toe to toe in Las Vegas.

Speaking about the mega deal Sky Sports Head of Boxing, Adam Smith, said: “This is surely one of the most anticipated and intriguing contests we’ve ever seen on Sky Sports Box Office.”

“Can the charismatic Conor McGregor, so formidable in the octagon, make the switch to the ring and create history?”

“What will it mean for Mayweather’s legacy – one of the greatest fighters of all time but coming out of retirement and facing a man at the very top of his game?”

“It’s set to be a huge night in Las Vegas – one you won’t want to miss.”

Securing the rights has been seen as a major coup for Sky as it was widely expected that BT would have had an advantage in the deal given their ties to the UFC who are said to be pushing hard to promote the fight along with Mayweather Promotions.
