Reprehensible: Dublin Fire Brigade crew member injured after being hit in the head from a slingshot object

This doesn’t get much more deplorably reprehensibly than this.

During an emergency call out on Friday night, a Dublin Fire Brigade crew member was caught about the head with an object fired from a slingshot.

It is understood the ambulance crew worker was hit by the projectile whilst attending an emergency incident last night.

The incident which has been condemned as cowardly has also prompted the Minister for Health Simon Harris to speak out.

Harris has called the unprovoked attack as despicable behaviour and he has called on the public to respect emergency crew staff who do their very best to help the public in every emergency situation.

He also expressed his regret for the attack and he wished that the crew worker would make a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile Dublin Fire Brigade have also condemned the attack via a tweet which said the following: “Overnight one of our ambulances in the city centre was hit by a slingshot and projectile resulting in an injury to a crew member.”

“DFB condemn these incidents which are unacceptable & wish our colleague a speedy recovery. We will support and assist in any way we can.”
