Residents of Buncrana left in mourning once again after 3 year old local boy dies in drowning accident whilst on holiday with his parents

The town of Buncrana has experienced yet another tragedy recently after a young boy from the Donegal town has died whilst he was on holiday in Latvia.

The sad news was confirmed late last night, reports say the 3 year old tot named Roland Letins, whose parents are of Latvian descent, tragically died following a drowning accident whilst he was with his family visiting his grandparents in Latvia.

Little Roland, a student of Cockhill Community Pre-School, was born in Buncrana after his parents, Janeks Kuzelis and Dace Letina, moved to the Donegal town a number of years ago.

Police in Latvia say a full investigation has been launched into the circumstances regarding little Roland’s tragic death. The young boy’s death comes just weeks after the town was left in mourning following the deaths of five people in the drowning tragedy at Buncrana Pier in March.
