“Resign now” – Further demands for Phil Hogan to resign after he issues apology for attending #GolfGate dinner

There have been further calls for Phil Hogan to reconsider his position after it was confirmed that he attended the #GolfGate dinner.

EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan has issued a groveling apology, but has stopped short of offering his resignation in the wake of the Clifden golf party debacle.

Mr. Hogan released a ‘fulsome and profound apology’, but has not followed in the footsteps of former Minister for Agriculture Dara Calleary, who resigned from his position after attending the same event.

The recently appointed Taoiseach Micheal Martin has recalled the Dáil to deal with the fallout of the Clifden disaster.
