Restaurants look set to remain closed for New Year’s as Taoiseach says country is likely to go into level 3

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that restaurants will most likely be closed for New Year’s as the country looks set to go into Level 3.

Speaking on Friday, the Taoiseach said that we can have a meaningful Christmas, but restrictions are looking set to be implemented by New Year’s Eve.

The Taoiseach said that the Government and NPHET have become concerned about the rise in Covid-19 cases.

He said that it will be most likely that the country will be placed in Level 3 restrictions in January.
