The decision on lifting restrictions implemented in counties Laois, Offaly and Kildare will reportedly come down to the wire with an official Government decision expected on Friday.
According to RTE News, early indications have suggested that the National Public Health Emergency Team has recommended lifting restrictions in counties Laois and Offaly but unfortunately they will remain in place for Kildare residents past the weekend.
Although no official decision has been made it is expected that the Government will provide an update for residents in the three counties tomorrow following a meeting with NPHET on Thursday.
Speaking at the NPHET briefing Dr Ronan Glynn said that the team had outlined its advice to the Government who will come to a decision.
