Review into the dire conditions of the Irish health service recommends up to 2,500 new hospital beds to cope with increased demand

A review into the dire conditions of the Irish health service has recommended that up to 2,500 extra beds are made available by the year 2030, to cope with expected demand.

The hospital network is currently under severe strain, with record numbers of people suffering on trolleys on a daily basis.

With the flu season about to peak, the situation is bound to get much worse.
