A female motorist has been airlifted to hospital after a collision between a car and a truck.
The incident happened just outside Portlaoise, on the Old Dublin Road (R445) at around 4.30 this afternoon.
It is understood that the woman has suffered life-threatening injuries, and is currently receiving treatment.
The occupants of the truck did not sustain any injuries.
