The latest spike in road fatalities keeps rising, after a young man sadly lost his life in Co. Roscommon last night.
The accident occurred shortly after midnight at Ardcarn, Boyle, in Co Roscommon.
The young man was a passenger in a car that veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. He was rushed to Sligo University Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
The driver of the car (31) and a second passenger (37) were also taken to hospital. Their injuries are thought to be non life-threatening.
