It has been a bad year for road deaths in Ireland, as 186 people have sadly lost their lives in crashes, collisions, or after being knocked down.
A recent Road Traffic Bill grants Gardai new powers to test motorists for drugs at the side of the road.
Figures recently released reveal that a total of 646 people have been caught driving under the influence or either alcohol or drugs so far this year.
