Integration Minister Roderic O’Gorman has stated that the arrival of around 15,000 international protection applicants in Ireland will become the new normal, reports Breaking News.
Mr. O’Gorman also mentioned that his department is collaborating more efficiently with law enforcement on addressing protests near accommodation centres.
The Green Party had made a commitment to end and replace the direct provision system, but Mr. O’Gorman expressed disappointment that this has not been accomplished, citing a change in circumstances since he released the White Paper on ending direct provision in 2021, reports Breaking News.
