At Róisín Cryan’s burial service, it was revealed that she was a giving individual who enjoyed travelling the world with her fiancé, Mayo senior football player Conor Loftus. On January 11, the corpse of the 28-year-old was found in Ballina, Mayo, along the River Moy, reports The Mirror.

Following a funeral liturgy at St. Mary’s Church in Carrick-on-Shannon on Wednesday, she was buried at Drumlion Cemetery. “I am deeply mindful that for many of Róisín’s young friends, this is probably your first experience of the death of someone from your own age group, and of course it is unreal and unnatural,” parish priest Fr. Frank Garvey remarked, addressing the hundreds of mourners who had assembled in the church.

“We are mindful of the loss that you, Róisín’s family, and the Loftus family are now experiencing. We are deeply saddened by the loss of someone so precious to all of you. We pray to the Lord that you will comfort us in our sadness, console us in our grief, and give us the strength to accept the significant loss,” reports The Mirror.

In order to symbolise Róisín’s life, a number of presents were presented to the altar. Since she “loved to travel and took every opportunity to see the world” with Conor, a picture of the two of them on vacation in Italy was shown.

An Apple Watch, Airpods, and runners were also given as gifts to the young lady in recognition of her passion of walking and listening to music outside. Because Róisín loved animals and spent a lot of time walking the puppy around the Crossmolina lake, a picture of Ted, Conor’s family dog, and his lead were brought to the altar, reports The Mirror.

“Family meant everything to Róisín,” according to the burial liturgy, and she “showed up every day as a wonderful daughter, sister, partner, cousin, and niece.” During the mass, a coffee cup and a picture of Róisín on Kilcummin beach in Mayo were also shown.

Conor proposed to her on Kilcummin Beach, which is where these presents symbolised her time there. At last, a pocketbook and watch were presented to the altar.

“These symbols remind us of Róisín’s love of fashion, her hard work, and her generosity,” the mass heard. Róisín enjoyed sharing her accomplishments and giving her loved ones lovely presents, reports The Mirror.

Prior to her passing, Róisín, who was from Attyrory, Carrick-on-Shannon, lived and worked in Ballina. Since the young woman’s untimely death, tributes have been pouring in from all throughout the nation.

Mayo GAA wrote: “Mayo GAA is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Róisín Cryan, Carrick-On-Shannon. We would like to offer our sincere sympathies to Conor, the Cryan and Loftus families, Roisin’s extended family and friends during this difficult time,” reports The Mirror.

Crossmolina Deel Rovers, Conor’s home club, said: “Crossmolina Deel Rovers would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Róisín Cryan, especially her parents Joe and Marguerite, fiancé Conor Loftus, sisters Annmarie, Clare, Ruth and Maeve, Clare’s fiancé Eugene, the Cryan & Loftus families,” reports The Mirror.
