Rowan Atkinson’s wife, Sunetra Sastry, has been granted a divorce on the grounds of his “unreasonable behaviour” at the Central Family Court in London.
The couple had been married for 24 years after meeting when Ms Sastry worked as a make-up artist at the BBC in the 1980s. The pair were reported to have separated last year. Atkinson (60) has been in a relationship with actress Louise Ford since then. The former couple have two children
The world-famous star best known for his roles Mr Bean and Blackadder was not present at the brief proceedings at the court. No details were given on the sort of behaviour in the divorce papers which were made public.
Atkinson is a keen collector of cars and is thought to be worth around £85m. Earlier this year he sold a rare McLaren F1, which was only ever owned by him, for £8m.
