RTE accused of editing footage to drown out Martin and Varadkar being booed and called traitors at Michael Collins ceremony

Social media users have accused RTE, Ireland’s national broadcaster of editing footage of Micheal Martin and Leo Varadkar to not show many people booing both so-called leaders and calling them traitors in Cork on Sunday afternoon.

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin and the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar were booed by some in attendance at the Micheal Collins memorial ceremony in Cork on Sunday.

The national broadcaster appeared to not report the story that some people loudly booed as Martin and Varadkar arrived.

Some people chanted “traitors, traitors”, while supporters tried to drown them out by attempting to clap over them.

Various social media clips showed the jeering of the government leaders, who appeared to ignore those who blatantly appeared to despise both men.
