Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTE has been accused on social media of whitewashing the entire Katherine Zappone hotel party which saw the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar in attenance.
Many people on social media believe that Varadkar is getting a ‘free ride’ in relation to the whole incident and that reports for the national broadcaster didn’t push him hard enough on how he managed to attend the party yet keep his Fine Gael leadership and role as Tanaiste.
People are saying that there’s double-standards, one rule for them and another us, with claims that Varadkar himself would be first to call for someone’s resignation if they had gone to the party.
