It must have slipped the minds of all the reporters at RTE News that one major part of today’s dramatic news from Sligo is that Yousef Palani is only a “naturalised Irish citizen”, who locals say is a Muslim and only moved to Ireland a number of years ago.
RTE Six One News obviously didn’t know this however, as they continuously reported that he was from “Markievicz Heights in Sligo” – did you not know that Palani was a good old Sligo name?!
Meanwhile, in the real world, the 22-yr-old foreign national, whose been granted Irish citizenship, has been charged with the murders of Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee in Sligo.
Yousef Palani, who currently lives in Markievicz Heights in Sligo, but is a migrant was brought before the local District Court this afternoon.
He is charged with the murder of Aidan Moffitt, 41, on April 10 in Cartron Heights, Sligo.
Palani has also been charged with the murder of Michael Snee, 58, at City View Apartments in Sligo on April 12.
Yousef Palani, a resident of Markievicz Heights in Sligo, was brought before the local District Court this afternoon.
He is charged with the murder of Aidan Moffitt, 41, on April 10 in Cartron Heights, Sligo.
Palani has also been charged with the murder of Michael Snee, 58, at City View Apartments in Sligo on April 12.
Mr Palani had been questioned by detectives in Sligo since his arrest in the early hours of yesterday morning.
He was taken into custody and will appear before court again on April 22nd.
