RTE News presenter Ray Kennedy has thanked a number of people who intervened when his son was attacked for 5 thugs over the weekend.
Kennedy’s 19-yr-old son was attacked on his way home from work when five thugs hopped him and tried to steal his bike.
They beat him, broke his nose and grabbed his bike.
Thankfully two men jumped out of a car when they saw what was happening and grabbed the bike off the thugs.
Another person stopped, a woman who phoned her off-duty husband who works as paramedic. He arrived and administered first aid and phoned Ray Kennedy informing him of the attack.
The news presenter’s son has to have an operation on his nose but otherwise is said to be recovering well. Kennedy thanked the public for stopping saying that his son will recover but that it could have been a lot worse.
I confirm my son was attacked on Fri night, he was cycling home after work. He’s strong – knows self defence. 5 thugs outnumbered him, punched him, broke his nose – black eyes and cuts. I can’t thank those who came to his aid enough. Without them, who knows? He’s on the mend now. pic.twitter.com/MKeYxHrkbx
