In the latest measure to get RTE back on track, management have announced that they are introducing a new Register of Interests and a new Register of External Activities.
According to RTE, the plan is to ensure that details are provided regarding the various requests from staff to take part in external activities. The Director General, Kevin Bakhurst, said that this is part of a plan to ensure good governance at the station.
In announcing the new measure, management have also made it clear that no staff member can use RTE’s locations, equipment or social media links to advertise or promote any of their outside commercial interests.
