Many feel that President Michael D Higgins is running scared after it’s emerged that he won’t participate in tonight’s Claire Byrne Live Presidential debate.
It was originally thought that Higgins possibly had office duties that would mean he was double-booked for the evening but it appears that wasn’t the case.
Last evening, Sean Gallagher hand-delivered a letter urging Higgins to participate. It’s understood that Gallagher will only participate in debates where Higgins is present.
More than likely Higgins will be watching the debate from the Aras where he can dodge any curve balls about his expenditure.
