Russia says 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers have surrendered to them in Mariupol

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has said that nearly 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers locked up in the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol have so far surrendered, TASS news agency reports.

Hundreds of Ukrainian militants emerged from the maze of bunkers and tunnels under the facility, although Moscow and Kyiv gave different numbers.

It’s yet another sign that Russia is still making serious inroads in the country despite what many believe is Western propaganda to say the opposite is happening.
