Only days after the airline announced that its board of management had approved plans for transatlantic flights, there are reports today that such plans appear to have been abandoned.
In a statement, the company said: “In the light of recent press coverage, the board of Ryanair Holdings Plc wishes to clarify that it has not considered or approved any transatlantic project and does not intend to do so.”
It was announced last Monday that Ryanair had plans to begin operating transatlantic flights to 12 or 14 US cities within a five year timeframe.
