Ryanair reaches its first agreement with an online travel agency

Despite constantly calling online travel agencies (OTAs) “pirates,” Ryanair has announced its first relationship with one, reports Breaking News.

The Dublin-based airline said that it has reached an agreement with loveholidays to provide its flights as components of travel packages.

Prior to now, Ryanair had voiced serious concerns about OTAs selling its flights without authorization.

According to Breaking News, it brought attention to businesses who overcharged passengers last week, including Kiwi.com, Opodo, eDreams, and lastminute.com.

Additionally, there is a problem with passengers’ contact information not being shared, which makes it challenging to handle refunds and offer trip updates.

Ryanair director of marketing, Dara Brady said: “Nobody is looking to overcharge customers here. Nobody is looking for customers not to get the right information, and in the case of where it does go wrong, we’ve a process that guarantees customers can get refunds. We’ve always said that if [OTAs] play by our rules, we’d be happy to work with others.”
