Sad news this afternoon – Two more people have been killed on the roads

A woman in her 20’s has died after her car collided with a truck in Co Tipperary. 

The crash happened at 12:30pm on the M8, northbound between junction 9 and 10 at Dogstown.

Two other women travelling in the car at the time, aged in their 50s, have been brought to University Hospital Limerick and South Tipperary General Hospital but along with the truck driver, are said to have none life threatening injuries.

The M8 northbound between junction 9 and 10 is restricted to one lane at the moment.

This morning, a man in his 60s died in a single-vehicle crash on the N53 in Co Louth.

The crash occurred at Rassan on the Dundalk to Castleblaney Road at around 7am.

The man, who was travelling alone, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or anyone who was on the road between 6.30am and 7.15am to contact Dundalk Garda Station on 042 9388400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
