There was some tragic news announced last night as Gardaí confirmed that they found the remains of a missing elderly Sligo man yesterday evening.
The man named Jimmy Scanlon aged 79, had been missing from his since December 8 and was the subject of a missing persons appeal on social media over the past week. Gardai say Mr Scanlon’s remains where found yesterday evening and there is no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
They have also thanked members of the public for their assistance in the case.
