There’s yet another text message phishing scam doing the rounds with Bank of Ireland forced to inform its customers that they’re aware of the scam and to ignore the text message if they receive one.
The official warning comes after a number of Bank of Ireland customers received a text reportedly from the bank asking them to clink on a link to update their account but will actually ask for their personal details to be updated and confirmed.
The bank are advising customers not to follow its instructions but instead to delete the message immediately.
We are aware of a smishing/fraudulent SMS which has been sent. Bank of Ireland will never send an SMS asking for personal information. Please do not click any links and delete SMS. Thank you.
