Scandalous: Irish people pay more for prescription drugs than any other EU state

It has been recently revealed that Irish people pay more for prescription medications than any other state in Europe.

According recent figures released by the OECD, on average the Irish person spent a staggering €642 for prescription medications, in 2015, compared to their EU counterparts who on average spent €458.

The latest figures which were revealed in this weekends Sunday Business Post, places Ireland as the third most expensive place in the developed world when it came to purchasing prescription medications.

The news of does not reflect well on the government who allegedly negotiated a deal with pharmaceutical companies that was apparently supposed to make prescription drugs cheaper.
