Gardai have warned the public to be extra careful this morning as the country experienced a hard frost with snow in certain areas overnight.
People are advised that traffic will be running slower than usual and to take extra time and care on their journeys this morning.
The North, North East and East of the country experienced the worst of the weather with snow falling on high level ground and severe frost on low lying areas.
Met Eireann claim today will start with extreme frost making driving conditions treacherous see the clear spells with bright and sunny spells. Temperatures are said to be between 4 – 7c.
