Schools in trouble again? Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland to ballot its members following issues arising from schools reopening in the middle of a pandemic

Just as schools reopen for the start of the new academic year, it appears that not everyone is happy with the conditions that they’re faced with as the pandemic rolls on.

The Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland (ASTI) is to ballot its members following issues arising from schools reopening in the middle of a pandemic.

Some of the issues quoted were insufficient or total lack of protective equipment, physical distancing, and virus testing.

The decision to call for industrial action was taken following a meeting on Saturday.
