A number of schools could remain closed on Monday due to the adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Emma.
Although no official confirmation has been made it is thought the Department of Education are reviewing the situation.
The potential closures could come as the country is expected to see freezing conditions and more snowfall over the weekend.
In announcement made earlier today as spokesperson for the Department said an update will be issued on Sunday once the events of the weekend pass.
They added any decision will come after a serious review by the department, before stating that the interest of children’s safety is paramount.
