It is now officially the first week of November and some of us may still be recovering from the weekends Halloween fancy dress party antics, with even a fair few of us still trying remove the makeup and hair dye which made up our spooky attire, but one group of people from West Cork will be recovering from tired legs this week after building one amazing costume which paid tribute to the iconic cartoon Scooby Doo.
The group who dressed up in costumes which paid homage to Scooby, Shaggy
and the rest of the gang went above and beyond over the weekend by even recreating the legendary Mystery Machine which was spotted on the streets Castletownbere Co Cork. The hilarious and clever costume was created by local resident Cian Murphy along with his friends over the past number of weeks which has since gone on to be a hit on social media.
The man/woman powered costume which even had a horn and lights received great acclaim with many applauding the gangs efforts. The man behind the idea Cian told reporters that the machine got the kudos it deserved in the town this weekend, he went onto say: “We got an amazing reaction. A restaurant emptied of people running out to the street to see us pass. We got a round of applause in the first bar we walked into.” Cian added: “We are delighted at the end product and response we got because we spent the last two and a half weeks building it at night.”
I think we all can agree what a truly amazing costume, the effort alone has to be applauded.
