Scottish government condemned as racist for promoting Gaelic over others spoken “predominantly by brown Muslims”

Scotland has a state sponsored policy of racism for promoting Gaelic more so than languages spoken by “brown Muslims” according to academic Nighet Riaz.

Riaz is the equality officer for the Scottish National Party which holds power in Scotland’s devolved parliament.

However, the academic has now attacked the party for promoting Scotland’s native language over languages such as Urdu, the most common language of Pakistan.

Riaz has said that promoting Gaelic in Scotland amounts to “anti-Muslim racism”.

A rebuttal came from Scottish Gaelic poet and musician Griogair Labhruidh. Labhruidh points out Riaz fails to acknowledge languages such as Polish, which is spoken by more people in Scotland than Urdu, are also neglected in education funding.

Labhruidh went on to call on the SNP to continue its commitment to Bòrd na Gaidhlig so that Scotland does become another victim to globalism and be consumed into the “global mono-culturalism”
