Scottish social worker raped women then threatened to have their children removed

A social worker assaulted three women with a series of heinous sexual crimes, landing her in jail. Thomas Proctor preyed on his victims, threatening to take two of their’ children away from their care by virtue of his position, reports Daily Record.

One was raped by the 43-year-old while she was in the hospital getting well. He also exploited a victim who had ingested water laced with an unidentified chemical. In a trial held in Glasgow’s High Court, Proctor had refuted the charges. However, the jury found him guilty on 11 counts in all.

They included the first woman’s indecent assault and repeated rape at several Lanarkshire sites. Proctor was found guilty of molesting the second woman in a Maryhill flat in Glasgow, reports Daily Record.

Proctor, of Airdrie, was remanded in jail by Judge William Gallacher while the sentence hearing was postponed for reports.

Prosecutor Alan Parfery described Proctor’s behaviour towards his victims as “calculated in a predatory fashion” in his closing remarks to the jury.

He told the first lady, “I am teaching you what you will like and what you do not like,” during one of their early attacks.

She was raped during her horrifying encounter at the hands of Proctor when she was recovering in the hospital following a medical operation, reports Daily Record.
