Liverpool FC have confirmed that a total of €748,000 has been raised for the Seán Cox Rehabilitation Trust.
In announcement the Premier league club confirmed that the sum was raised following a match between a Liverpool legends XI and a Republic of Ireland legends XI.
The club say the funds will assist Sean and his family in his recovery and will help with cover the costs of his ongoing care.
Along with Sean’s wife Martina Cox, Stephen Felle, chairman of the Trust, thanked the public and all those involved in the game for kind donations and continued support.
