Scuba teams are this morning searching around a canal near the Ardnacrusha power station in Co. Clare, after a passing motorist reportedly spotted a human arm sticking out of the water.
Three units of the Limerick City and County Fire Service and the Killaloe-based coastguard marine rescue service were dispatched to the locality yesterday afternoon, and the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter was also sent to aid in the search.
The operation is ongoing, but so far, no body has been recovered.
