Ministers are understood to be merrily packing the sun cream and standard issue speedos in preparation for their well-earned rest, after just eight weeks of sitting in the chamber of power at Leinster House.
Someone will hang the ‘Gone fishin” sign at the Dáil’s doorknob on July 7, due to ‘renovation work’ scheduled to take place. And this work is expected to go on for an extended period, too, as ministers will likely mosey back on to their seats by late September, presumably all relaxed and refreshed looking forward to their extended Christmas break, just around the corner by then.
