September 11th: America will mark the 17th anniversary of that tragic day with remembrance ceremonies

What sadly transformed from world recognised mega structures to the world renowned term “Ground Zero” sees thousands of people currently reading out just shy of 3,000 names that were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001.

Events are also taking place across the globe to remember the worst attack on US soil in history.

Thousands of people are preparing to gather at ceremonies at the site of the destroyed World Trade Center towers, at the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania where the flight United 93 crashed.

Remembrances for the 2,977 people who died will take place with New York’s 650lb Bell of Hope, which hangs near Ground Zero in St Paul’s Chapel, the rest centre for 9/11 rescue workers, sounded at 8.46am New York time, the moment of the first impact.

The events of that fateful day marked the start of what the world now knows as Islamic Extremist Terrorism, and unfortunately 15 years later, ISIS seem to have as much hate in their twisted agenda as the cowards who attacked the innocent victims in America 17 years ago today.
