To say that 2014 hasn’t been Tesco’s finest year would be a slight understatement. From gigantic accounting ‘mishaps’ to no less gigantic losses, the fortunes of the once mighty retailer seem to be going from bad to worse.
The company has today confirmed that the Serious Fraud Office is to launch a probe into its accounting practices, after it emerged earlier in the year that its profits had been over-reported by as much as £263m.
