Everyone loves a good news story and this is certainly one of them!
Carpe Omnia is a premium mens jeans brand that specialises in skinny fitting jeans. The company was set up in December 2017 by brothers Michael and John McKeown from Collon in County Louth.
The name ‘Carpe Omnia‘ is Latin for ‘seize every moment’, a message and mindset that the founders feel passionate about and really want people to live by.
The two young men told The Liberal that they’d always struggled to find jeans that fit them the way they wanted, whether it was too long, too short, too loose etc and they wanted to create jeans that fit tight to the ankle, stretch for comfort and sizes that cater for all leg lengths.
They felt there was a gap in the market for what they call “the perfect fitting jeans”, especially in Ireland; because of this Carpe Omnia was born.
During John’s time in Maynooth University, he worked part-time in a high-end men’s suit shop in Dublin. Here, he learned the fundamentals in retail and manufacturing in the clothing sector. Michael completed his degree in Multimedia in DCU and is experienced in Digital Design and Social Media marketing. By combining their skills, the brothers were able to design and manufacture their jeans and launch their website to begin trading.
Their website was launched in December 2017 with only two products. Using their social media marketing skills, in particular, their Instagram page (@carpeomniaclothing), they have grown to a stage where now they have eight different styles of jeans.
Both plan on growing the Carpe Omnia brand by introducing other items of high-end fitted clothing to like-minded people all over the world.
This success story will no doubt inspire other entrepreneurs to act on that idea and fill a gap in the market.
