A total of seven teenagers were arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning after a dramatic garda chase in Dublin, reports The Mirror.
Gardai have confirmed the arrest of seven teenagers following reports of a car theft this weekend.
After spotting a stolen vehicle in the Balbriggan area, gardaí attempted to stop it but the driver ignored commands.
Gardai then took part in a controlled safety operation to stop the car and it is currently undergoing a technical inspection by experts, reports The Mirror.
Seven of the arrested teenagers have now been released from Garda custody.
A Garda spokesperson told The Irish Mirror: “Gardaí in Ballymun arrested seven teenage juveniles in relation to the theft of a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday 9th September 2023. Gardaí observed the stolen car in Balbriggan and signalled for the car to stop. The car failed to stop for Gardaí and a managed containment operation was put in place. The vehicle was pursued and apprehended by Gardaí in the Dublin 1 area. The car is currently subject to a technical examination,” reports The Mirror.
