Upwards of 600,000 people will now be forced to boil their water until Tuesday of next week at least, due to ongoing problems at the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant.
It is the second time in two weeks that Irish Water issues a boil water notice for large swathes of counties Dublin, Kildare, and Meath.
It is understood that there will be further tests done over the weekend, and that the outcome of these will determine whether or not the notice can be lifted next week.
