In yet another shameful indictment of this failed Government, it has been revealed that over 1,000 families are living in emergency accommodation nationwide.
Out of this figure, the vast majority (913) are in Dublin.
The precise figures are as follows: 1,054 families in total, including 2,177 children, were listed as living in homeless accommodation during the month of May.
The number of homeless families in Dublin actually increased by 34% since December 2015.
There are continuous calls on the Government to do something to palliate the crisis, but so far no action has been taken on the shameful scourge of homelessness.
