The shameful scourge of the trolley dependence around Irish hospitals continues unabated, without any solution in sight.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has released a report stating that 224 people are on hospital trolleys around the country today.
The report indicates that the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar has the highest number, 28.
Elsewhere, 24 people are waiting on beds in Tallaght Hospital in Dublin.
To date, no proposals or “solutions” put forward by the Government have done anything to alleviate the crisis.
