There has been a fury of outrage on social media over the shooting of 17-yr-old Harambe, the gorilla unfortunate enough to be caught up in the misadventures of a young boy.

The 4-yr-old escaped his mother’s hand and fell into the enclosure at 9pm Irish time, Saturday night.

The Cincinnati Zoo in Ohio is now in the spotlight of animal rights activists around the world today after they claim they were forced to kill the innocent gorilla.

A special rescue team was brought in to handle the situation, and they deemed the ten minute saga to be a threat to the boy’s life.

The boy is set to make a full recovery, while the animal, who was transferred to the zoo from a Texas zoo just one year ago, was killed for nothing.
