Katie Taylor will take on Amanda Serrano in Dublin on May 20th of this year, her promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed.
After last year’s super fight in NYC, the Bray boxer confirmed her team were pushing for a rematch with Serrano at Croke Park, with that prospect a step closer after the Puerto Rican’s promoter said she was ready to fight Taylor in Ireland.
However, Croke Park rent and security costs have all be scuppered the fight for Croker, even though Conor McGregor stepped in to help, and will more than likely happen now in the 3Arena.
Many believe that it’s a shocking indictment of the Irish government not to help facilitate a stadium fight, but either way the Bray woman is coming home to fight on Irish soil.
