Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested for public intoxication in Austin, Texas for public intoxication. Police arrested the Transformers star on Sixth Street, a busy entertainment district in Austin.
A video on the TMZ website appears to show the actor in handcuffs as police put him in the back of a patrol car. Witnesses told the site the actor was acting bizarrely, running down the street, jaywalking and ignoring police warnings.
Records show the 29-year-old was booked into Travis County Jail on Friday night and later released. No lawyer was called. “Due to pending adjudication, no further details will be released at this time.” the Austin Police Department said in a statement.
This is not his first run-in with the law. The actor was arrested last June in New York for using obscene language, spitting at a police officer and refusing to leave a theatrical performance when asked. LaBeouf pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after disrupting a Broadway show. After this he agreed to get alcohol abuse treatment. At the time, his publicist said it stemmed from an alcohol problem and that the actor had undergone treatment.
